What is Xuéxí?
Xuéxí (学习, “to study” in Chinese) is an iOS app for learning Mandarin. It covers hanzi, vocabulary, pinyin, and radicals with color-coded tones, SRS flashcards, multiple quiz modes, handwriting practice, sentence building, and mastery tracking — in both Simplified and Traditional script. Built for self-directed learners who want a focused, no-nonsense study tool.
Simplified or Traditional?
Both. Switch between Simplified and Traditional at any time, and your SRS progress follows you across both scripts. Romanization can be shown as tone-marked, color-coded pinyin or as zhuyin (bopomofo) — whichever you prefer.
How does the SRS system work?
Xuéxí uses spaced repetition (SRS) to schedule reviews at optimal intervals. When you review a card, you rate how well you remembered it. Cards you struggle with appear more frequently, while mastered items are spaced further apart — the same proven method language learners rely on worldwide.
What is HSK and which levels are included?
HSK is the standard Chinese proficiency framework. Xuéxí organizes everything by HSK 3.0 — bands 1 through 6 plus an advanced 7–9 band — covering 3,034 characters and 11,470 words. Study by band, or let SRS mix levels as you progress.
